Striking a balance (Video)

Set up in April 1994, the Highways Agency's an executive agency of the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions and manages, maintains and improves 6,600 miles of England's motorway and trunk roads Inevitably, this means the Agency constantly has to strike a balance between competing pressures from road users, those affected by roads, and the environment.

The Highways Agency has produced a corporate video that explains its role, and provides a snapshot of the many techniques at its disposal to make England's motorway and trunk roads safer, more reliable, efficient and environmentally acceptable.
